This was a commission; the author wanted to do 12 art deco style sci-fi themed buttons. I took inspiration from pulp covers and movies that had released around the time that art deco was popular, but simplified them so that they would read well from a distance. I feel that the limited palette combined with the gold lining really helped the designs pop.
